Dartford Borough Council Sports Arts and Heritage Grants Sports%20funding

Grants of between £100 and £1,500 are available to support projects that extend the participation and audience of sports, arts and heritage activities for residents of Dartford Borough. Grants are available for revenue costs and for movable equipment costs. The next deadlines are 31 March 2008 and 30 September 2008.

Awards for All

Grants up to £10,000 from the Awards for All programme are open to not-for-profit organisations, including parish and town councils, schools and health bodies.

They can be used to support small-scale projects that promote arts and education, encourage healthier living, develop local sports, support heritage initiatives and boost community

Barclays Local Hero Award

This scheme awards volunteers who have demonstrated great commitment and support to their club or organisation. Each winner is presented with a special medal and a cheque for £1000 for the club or charity of their choice.

The Big Lottery Fund

Big Lottery Fund is responsible for giving out half the money for good causes raised by the National Lottery, giving a budget of about £630 million a year. Funding covers health, education, environment and charitable purposes. They are committed to bringing real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

Kent Sport Development Unit

The KSDU has a wealth of information for those involved in sport in Kent, and one of the services provided by the website is a searchable database of available funding . They can also assist in preparing applications to the Big Lottery Fund and attracting private sponsorship.

Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust

Peter Harrison Foundation

The Foundation's 'Opportunities through Sport' programme supports activities or projects which provide opportunities for disabled people or those who are disadvantaged to fulfil their potential and for other personal and life skills to be developed. School Sports Grants

Applications are welcomed from sports clubs, youth groups, schools, local authorities and other organisations providing sporting activities outside of school hours (including weekends and schools holidays) using Kent County Council school sites. Grants of £100 to £2,000 are available.

Sport Saver (Kent Reliance Buliding Society) and Pfizer Small Grants

This scheme provides grants between £50 and £500 for assistance to community sports projects in Kent. This could be for anything from sports equipment to a sports event. Applicants are normally local sports clubs but in some circumstnaces could be schools or local authorities. There are various deadlines throughout the year.

The Young People's Fund

The YPF is part of the Big Lottery Fund and will concentrate on the outcomes from the green paper 'Every Child Matters' and on providing facilities and activities for young people out of school hours and in the holidays. There is £200 million available through the YPF across the UK over the next three years. In England , the sum is £157.5 million. One of the outcomes that the fund wants to achieveis being healthy. The emphasis of the fund is on young people coming up with their own ideas and being involved from start to finish.
