We're Building Bridges

The bridges are here!
We've started work on the next exciting stage of restoring the park. Another big step to creating our Edwardian vision for Central Park has now been delivered, with the arrival and installation of the two iron bridges. They are now in place and span the River Darent, linking the former GlaxoSmithKline-owned parkland at Acacia with Central Park.

The bridges provide a vital link in creating the new Central Park entrance at Darenth Road, making access to the park easier and far more attractive. The bridges will be a real boost to generations of Central Park users for years to come.

What next?
Paths are being created to link up the bridges to the new entrance. Extensive landscaping is being carried out around the area. The new Central Park entrance gates have been designed and are currently being manufactured.

Work is anticipated to complete in the Spring of 2010.
