Council TaxEvery household has a liability for Council Tax. Council Tax, together with income from services and Central Government grants, provides the money for Dartford Borough Council to provide local services such as refuse collection, street cleaning, and to manage its parks and open spaces etc.

A large proportion of the Council Tax from Dartford goes to Kent County Council to pay for countywide services such as schools, libraries, social services and the fire service. 

A further sum helps to fund policing in the borough and, for residents living in Swanscombe and Greenhithe or parished areas of the borough, an element of your Council Tax goes to pay for the services which the Town Council or Parish Council provide.

The amount each household pays is dependant on the band the property lies in, which is determined by the District Valuer, whether:
