Dartford Borough Council hosts the following annual events:
Christmas Lights Switch On
The Christmas Lights Event took place in the High Street on Saturday, 14 November 2009 where Chris Till (CITV) opened the afternoon's entertainment at 2.30pm. The line up this year was:
- 2.50pm Peer Pressure
- 3.25pm Girls Alouder
- 4.00pm Robbin Williams
- 4.35pm Singalong with:
- Churchill the Dog 'Oh Yes'
- The Orchard Panto Stars
- The worshipful the Mayor of Dartford
- Father Christmas
- 5.15pm the Big Switch-on, including Wallace and Gromit
Activities in the Orchards Shopping Centre started at 2pm with the arrival of Father Christmas at 12.30pm.
Dartford Festival
Provided for the community by Dartford Borough Council the Dartford Festival has become the largest free event in the South East of England. Taking place in Dartford's Central Park, the weekend's attractions include a great selection of music, children's rides, funfair, trade and charity stalls and a fantastic range of family entertainment!
Summer Sizzlers
Dartford
Borough Council provides a programme of summer activities for local young
people. We work closely with the organisers, helpers, coaches and performers
to provide a wide variety of events.
Dartford Heritage Open Days – 10 – 13 September 2009
The Heritage Open Days 2009 were a great success, proving more popular than ever with more than 250 attendees. One resident commented "we had a thoroughly enjoyable day whilst learning more about Dartford. I do hope you will repeat this delightful series of events next year and in years to come."
