Homelessness Review 2008

The Homelessness Act 2002 requires all local authorities to carry out a review of homelessness in their district at least every five years, to develop and publish a Homelessness Strategy based on this review, and to consult with other local statutory and voluntary organisations. The council published its first Homelessness Strategy in 2003 and following an external audit, a revised Homelessness Strategy 2004-2007 was published.

A series of consultation events took place with service users and local stakeholder organisations to help inform the review. We wish to express our thanks to everyone who participated in the review process.

Homelessness Strategy Implementation Group (HSIG)

The HSIG is a multi-agency partnership between Dartford Borough Council, health, social care, Kent Probabtion, local advice and support agencies, and registered social landlords and has been formed to monitor the progress being made in delivering Dartford Borough Council’s Homelessness Strategy 2008-2011.

Chaired by the Head of Housing, the group is held on a quarterly basis with the next meeting on Friday 20 February 2009 at 2pm at Dartford Borough Council Civic Centre.
