Housing Strategy 2009-2012
The Housing Strategy 2009-12 sets out the range and levels of housing and support needs in the borough and demonstrates how the Council and its partners work together to address the Boroughs housing need.
Housing Strategy Review 2008/2009
The Housing Strategy was written after the Housing Strategy Review. The review was based on a robust analysis of the issues the Council faces and current performance. A range of consultation events were held and themes and priorities were identified.
Our Housing Strategy Priorities
Coming out of the Housing Strategy Review and consultation were 5 overall priorities reflecting the Borough's housing needs, which have been adopted:
- Increase the supply of affordable homes across the borough
- Prevent homelessness
- Improve homes and neighbourhoods
- Improve Housing Conditions in the Private Sector and reduce the number of empty homes
- Ensure that all residents have fair and equal access to housing
