New look forums for supported housing tenants
Tenants living in any of Dartford Council’s fourteen supported housing schemes now have a choice of two bigger and better forums to attend to discuss the service they receive.
The aim of the forums is to allow residents to keep up to date with any changes, discuss key issues, make suggestions or simply to have a chat about the service they receive from the Council’s supported housing team.
The Council previously ran meetings for each individual supported housing scheme but the wider forums will allow residents to have a choice of dates and the ability to discuss relevant issues with a larger group. Residents will also be able to hear what those in other schemes have to say for the first time.
The first two meetings will be held on Thursday 22 May at Acacia Hall and Tuesday 3 June at Stone community hall. Supported housing tenants are welcome to attend either meeting.
Grant success for green group
Green fingered residents of Greenhithe are celebrating after receiving an £1800 council grant towards communal compost bins for a local community market garden.
The Greenhithe Market Garden Project applied for the funding to construct 6 sealed compost bins for local residents to use for garden waste which can then be used as soil improver and sterilised and processed to use for potting and seedlings.
The project aims to create a garden for the residents of Greenhithe, growing a range of high quality vegetables, herbs and flowers without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides.
The Greenhithe Market Garden Project is located at Knockhall Primary School, Eynsford Road.
Voluntary and community groups in Dartford can apply for up to £3000 through the Voluntary Sector Grants towards new projects or any events that can benefit Dartford.
