Mayor Elect Councillor Mrs Jennifer Rickwood
The Worshipful Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Mrs Jennifer Rickwood, has lived in Joydens Wood for thirty seven years. Councillor Mrs Rickwood has represented the Joydens Wood ward on the Borough Council for six years and has been a Wilmington Parish Councillor for ten years and is currently Chairman.
Councillor Mrs Rickwood was Mayoress during 2005/06. She very much enjoyed meeting with members of the uniformed youth groups in the area and was impressed with their hard work, outstanding achievements and dedication to high standards.
Highlights of Councillor Mrs Rickwood's period as Mayoress included the Dartford Festival, Buckingham Palace Garden Party and meeting with various residents of the Borough.
Councillor Mrs Rickwood will by escorted by Councillor Marilyn Peters, a fellow ward Councillor for Joydens Wood, during her Mayoral year.
Councillor Mrs Rickwood will be focussing her fundraising efforts on four local charities during 2009/10 each of which will hopefully benefit substantially from donations and support:
Councillor Mrs Rickwood has a son, Mark, a daughter, Alison Anne, and two grandchildren, Emily and Molly.
For relaxation the new Mayor likes to garden, complete crosswords and visit historical towns. A keen theatre-goer the new Mayor is a regular visitor to The Orchard Theatre.
