Dartford is a 'good' council

Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) is about helping local authorities to improve local services for their communities. The assessment looks at how well the council delivers services and manages its work.

All Councils in England will be ranked as poor, weak, fair, good or excellent.  High performing Councils will have more independence and the ability to do more for their residents, whilst poorer authorities will be given additional support to get better.

CPA for district councils consists of a self-assessment, including diagnostics, carried out by the Council, a Peer Challenge of this assessment and a visit from a team of inspectors from the Audit Commission.

Dartford Borough Council's inspection by the Audit Commission commenced on March 29 th 2004, The inspection team looked at how well the council performs in providing services for the local community, and whether it is able to improve.
