Northern Gateway Consultation

What is this consultation about?

This consultation has now ended.

The Council has prepared development proposals for the Northern Gateway area for consultation. The proposals cover the employment area and Dartford Fresh Mashes to the north of Dartford railway station, bounded by Central Road, Temple Hill, Mill Pond Road, Victoria Road, Priory Road North, Lawson Road and Bob Dunn Way, including the Glaxo Smith Kline and Arjo Wiggins sites. The Council is seeking your views about the amount and type of development proposed. The proposals are not set in stone and the Council will take your views into account before finalising them.

The Northern Gateway is now to be included as a strategic site within the Core Strategy

The consultation ran from 10th July until 7th August 2009.

Two ‘Drop-in sessions’ will be held on Wednesday 22 July and Friday 24 July between 10am to 1pm at the Living Well Centre, St Edmunds Road, Temple Hill, where Council staff will be on hand to you’re your views or answer questions about these proposals.

What’s next?

After consideration of consultation responses, the Northern Gateway proposals will be taken forward as part of Dartford’s Local Development Framework Core Strategy. It will be consulted again as part of the Core Strategy before it is submitted to government.
