Parking services
Major changes to the way councils enforce parking are on the way as the Civil Parking Enforcement Regulations came into effect on 31 March 2008.
New civil parking enforcement regulations, which are part of the Traffic Management Act 2004, bring the most radical shakeup of parking enforcement in England and Wales for years.
Car parks
Dartford Council only operate a certain number of car parks and pay & display bays in the borough.
Other parking is owned and maintained either by supermarkets, major retailers or shopping centres.
Parking Ticket
We are unable to deal with any concerns over parking tickets issued at car parks not owned by us. If you have been issued with a parking ticket please check the ticket for details of the issuer.

Parking safely should be second nature to all of us. Bad parking - at the very least - causes delays and frustration - and at worst, contributes to accidents.
The aim of Dartford Council's enforcement of parking regulations is to strike a fair balance for all road users. Sensible parking is safe parking and helps to create a generally safer environment especially in busy urban streets.
Bad parking helps no-one and the Council wants to work with residents and visitors to the Borough to promote safer parking.
Be bright - park right in Dartford. You'll be fine if you do …...you'll be fined if you don't
DISABLED PARKING
Disabled badge holders are allowed additional parking privileges. They may park free, for up to three hours, in any permitted parking place provided that their clock is set and clearly displayed with their badge in the front windscreen.
DISABLED PARKING BAYS
Disabled persons’ parking bays are marked with white boxes and reserved for those displaying a disabled person’s permit (blue badge).
Parking is permitted for up to 3 hours and a list of disabled parking bays is available from Parking Services on 01322 343131.
YELLOW LINES
Disabled badge holders can also park for up to three hours on any single or double yellow line except where there is a ban on loading or unloading or a stopping restriction. They should not park where they will present a hazard to other road users.
