Yellow lines to stop parents parking at schools
Individuals often request a single yellow line for a limited time in order to stop ‘school run parking’.
Consideration must be given to residents in neighbouring streets that experience similar problems so that problems are not compounded for them.
The time period selected for kerb-space restrictions outside Dartford’s forty-four schools is similar and there is an insufficient number of Civil Enforcement Officers to actively enforce all schools at once.
- In order to address the school run issue, School Travel Planning officers have been employed by Kent County Council
These officers are working with the schools and others to implement appropriate measures to facilitate travel to and from schools by modes other than the car.
Appropriate kerb-space management in the vicinity of the school is required to encourage car-free trips.

This form registers your request only and there is no obligation for Dartford Borough Council to action your request at this stage. There is a process for considering and prioritising all requests for kerb-space management.
